As a single parent, I am often on the lookout for places to go with my two young children. The one thing we enjoy doing together more than anything else is walking in the countryside. I’ve been visiting my parents for the last few days, and they seem to have developed an infestation of ants. There’s an ant’s nest in the garden somewhere, and they’ve obviously discovered that there’s rich pickings on offer inside the house.

The sun lounge is particularly bad – I have no idea how they get in, but they are persistent little devils, and we can’t seem to have a single meal in there now without at least one of the blighters interrupting it by crawling across the table cloth.
